The installation of the JIG plant coincides with various upgrades to the existing chrome beneficiation plant which will, collectively, increase capacity, reduce production costs and add an additional product line of high-grade chrome chips, to Meerust. The JIG plant is expected to produce approximately 7,500 tonnes, per month, of chrome chips. Meerust plans to complete the cold and hot commissioning of the JIG plant within approximately 45 and 60 days, respectively, while simultaneously completing the optimisation of the chrome beneficiation plant, which has already commenced and is delivering improvements in wash plant efficiencies. The Board wishes the Meerust Executive Committee the very best for the hot commissioning of the JIG plant.
