SHARENET - Your Key To Investing

QuickStream 2.3

Basic Features

Looking up prices - Finding shares

If you know the share code
Enter the share code in the share code box and press enter or click Go.

If you do not know the share code
Enter three or more letters from the share name into the share code box and click the lookup button.

A window will appear with all shares that contain those letters. Double click on the share you are interested in to view pricing in a new share price window.

Tip: If you receive no response after clicking the lookup button, ensure that you have entered at least three characters into the share code box.

Changing the way prices are displayed

Quickstream allows you to add new share price windows in the following formats:

  • Tabs
Share price information is added as a new tab under the main window

  • Share window
Share price information is added in abbreviated form as a new window

  • Full window
Share price information is added as a new window

  • Graph window
Share price information is added as a graph in a new window

Normally Quickstream adds share price windows as new tabs on the main window. To change this, change the type of window in the drop down box to the right of the share code box.

Removing unwanted price windows

To remove a share price window tab, click on the X near the top right of the window. To remove any other window, click on the X at the top right of the window.

Portfolio view

If you have set up one or more portfolios on the Sharenet website (http://www.sharenet.co.za) you may view them using Quickstream. To do so, click on Add Portfolio. After a few seconds you will be presented with a list of your portfolios. Each time you click on one of these a new tab will be added with prices for the stocks in that portfolio.

Indicies view

Click on the Indicies button to view sale, move and percentage move figures for major JSE indicies.

Ticker view

Click the Ticker button to view a running ticker showing trades as they occur.

SENS view

Click the SENS button to show live news from the JSE’s Stock Exchange News Service (SENS). A list of SENS headings is shown (the newest appears at the top of the list). Click on the heading to view the full story.

Heatmap

The heatmap button depicts either volume or value percentage movement on the JSE.

Green colours indicate positive movements, red colours indicate negative movements. The lighter the colour, the greater the move. Hover your mouse over a block to view more detailed information on that share. The block will turn blue to indicate which you have selected – PRISM in the example below.
