For the interim period ended 30 September 2024, shareholders are advised that: • Basic earnings per share is expected to decrease by 24% to be 248.1 cents per share (September 2023: basic earnings 326.8 cents per share); and • Headline earnings per share is expected to decrease by 30% to be 225.5 cents per share (September 2023: headline earnings 321.2 cents per share). The decrease in earnings is attributable to the discontinuance of the deciduous segment, which was disposed of during the second half of the prior year. In addition, the timing of certain sugar cane agricultural expenses was earlier this period, compared to the corresponding prior period.
